Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don’t. I’d rather purchase a license than have a subscription, so will discontinue when subscription terminates.
  • Everything You’ll Need in a Planner App

I’ve been using this app for a while now. Unlike many of the other apps I’ve tried, it is customizable and flexible enough for anyone. If you need a lot of detail in your events and tasks, Informant can handle it; if you need only minimum detail, Informant can handle it. Informant offers multiple calendar views as well as the ability to customize toolbars. The app lets you decide how your calendar and tasks are presented. Additionally, it has the best ability to set up template tasks and events (Informant calls them Triggers) in comparison to other day planner types of events. Initially, this can take a while to set up, but it definitely is a time saver and makes recording events and tasks much easier. I do wish that the current version of Informant would allow you to use a current event or task as the base to create a new Trigger. I would like to see that capability restored.

It will be another year before they have a functional watch app. They basically want you to support this app while it's still in development. Basically no watch app, agenda view jitters like crazy when you mark a task complete and it doesn't return to the correct place in the timeline, the week view is horrible as it's all jumbled and impossible to decipher appointments, instead of including tasks in chronological order with your events, they place them at the bottom which makes no sense. Avoid this app. If it wasn't a work in progress it might be worth the cost. Update 7/19: since yesterday's update the agenda view doesn't scroll to the current day when opening the app. Ends up between two different days. Also still can't get events to show on watch complication. It's a joke that I have to restar my watch to get events to show in the complication. Update Reinstalled to see if any improvement has been made. Had to restart my Apple Watch 3 several times to get the complication to show the next scheduled event. Week view is still way too cluttered and very difficult to see. Need the ability to change fonts Obviously there are some good things with this app, but the negatives prevent me from resubscribing. Here's what this app needs and I know it can be done because my app of choice, Calengoo has most of these features: 1. Nagging alarms for events and tasks (yes calengoo has this) 2. More detailed week agenda view (yes calengoo has a far superior week agenda view) 3. Tasks on Apple Watch complication (Fantastical has this) Add these things and I subscribe for year. Until then staying with Calengoo

I have been using informant for years and paid the first time. Normally if there is an update, the person that paid the first version doesn’t have to paid again when there are new version of the same product. I am shocked. Now my previous version 4 is just looping, please can you show me how to get back to my previous version without this stupid loop? Thank you

I just spent $50 on the laptop version of Informant for my MacBook Pro. I have been getting the message “Updating Database” for the last 3 hours. Nothing has happened. Tried to quit. It won’t close. Tried to shutdown my Mac to force the program to quit and get a message that “Informant interrupted shut down. To continue quit Informant”. IT WONT LET ME QUIT AND WHERE IS THE HELP DESK FOR THIS??? Needless to say I am frustrated that I have wasted time and money on this app. Any help?????

My 5.4 suddenly started crashing on launch..useless for 48 hours. When I contacted customer support, they insisted that I was using version 4.x. I would be if it supported syncing as that’s the last version that really worked!!!
  • What’s happened to this app?

Why is the app not loading the data? I cannot depend on the app! Sometimes when I open it there is nothing populated in the calendar. Eventually things show up but can take hours. (Otherwise it’s great). I’ve tried to check settings but everything seems ok. I’m about to delete and go back to the dependable app that came with the phone. Beware, this app ain’t cheap!

A Swiss Army knife among calendar apps. Plus side: Lets me consolidate calendar events & tasks from multiple Google accounts, and I can update them all on seamlessly either in PI or On the Google web apps. Downside: PI has all kinds of options, especially for task management. At some point I need to find the documentation for it & learn how to take best advantage of what PI offers.

Not worth the effort it takes to cancel it. Once they have your money, it’s all over.
