  • Just minor inconveniences.

    By Marissa Bell
I used this app the last time I lost a bunch of weight and it really helped, life stuff happened and I ended up gaining most of it back so I'm on the journey again and decided to purchase the premium version of the app. It's very detailed and beautiful, but there are things that drive me nuts, like seriously tracking water is a pain, I have a 24oz bottle I keep at my desk, but I can't customize my bottle size properly to track this, I find myself downloading a different app to track water. Also, the whole ”taking a picture of your food” thing is so pointless it never works and I have to change its predictions anyways. Instead, can I just take a picture of the recipe I used then enter in how many servings it makes and state how much I ate, viola! I have been so frustrated with that. I will change my rating later because I really do enjoy the app it just isn't quite perfect yet. Thanks for reading.

good, but as of recently my active calories haven't been showing up.
  • Not Great

I bought the premium version because I thought it would be friendlier and more helpful than apps like myfitnesspal. Its not very smart, it doesn’t have a lot of foods in its database, and the recipes provided are few and not impressive. There’s no way to find easy meals, it seems to be time consuming and not super appetizing. For example, a suggested recipe to me was a tomato and buttermilk shake?? While that might not be hard to make, it sounds disgusting. Most of these recipes seem to be more about looks and “instagram” quality than nutrition and simplicity, which is what most people loom to food trackers for. In the app’s attempt to be more millenial-geared and well-rounded, they made a complicated app with a few flashy features (choosing your type of diet, taking a picture of your food to log it-which didn’t work when I tried-, and recipes-which have limited options and seem complicated). I wish they offered a trial of the premium but I understand why they don’t because I definitely wouldn’t have bought premium if I knew that not much would change, and the additional features are less than satisfactory. I absolutely regret purchasing this.
  • Constantly unlinks from my watch and erases my data

    By Agent_olive
I have been unable to keep my account set up correctly for more than a few hours at a time. I am logged in, linked my watch to import activity, set up my personal information etc. Everything looks great. Then, come lunch time, I go to add my food and suddenly the app has changed my fitness goal, is no longer importing my watch data and I have to go through the entire setup process Again. Fast forward to dinner, SAME THING. This has been happening every single day. In addition, they advertise the watch app functionality, but it does not work. The data does not sync to my watch (Series 4 &, yes, I know how to use it. It's not user error.) Additionally, I fully tracked Monday. Just now, on Tuesday morning, same issue with the account and I had to reenter all my detail and activate the watch connection. I go to check my macros from Monday and the goal amounts and data are gone. This app is borderline unusable and I'm extremely upset that I decided to subscribe for a year for premium. What's worse is that lifesum says to go to Apple for refunds and Apple is saying that my subscription (from FOUR days ago) is not eligible for refund. So, ya, if you have an iPhone X and Series 4 watch, don't both subbing. It doesn't work. Garage.
  • Good, but Very Buggy

    By hockemaster12
Was loving this app both in its design and ease of use. The most recent update pretty much ended that. All of my personal information, custom food, and settings in the app were erased or reset. Causing me to waste quite a bit of time resetting things and emailing support. If these bugs are not fixed soon I probably will not continue using this app. I paid for the premium subscription back in January and was happy with the app right up until this most recent update.
  • Wanted to love it

    By Gingergettinggreener
Love the UI, color scheme, and intiuitivity of the app but there just isn't a big food library available yet and I often find the nutritional information to be very inacurrate so it's back to basic my fitness pal for this girl. Also, I'm honestly just not sure how I fee about the smiley food rating system. While I understand what you were trying to accomplish with a quick reference way to see what foods are in plan or nutritionally valuable, but as someone recovering from an ED it sometimes makes me feel bad about a meal I just had, even though it was within my calorie goals. Not every meal will balanced with lots of veggies and some protein and good fats. Sometimes it's protein waffles and PB&J before the gym.
  • what’s going on with the app lately?!

    By lindsey5698
I LOVED this app. For the last 2 years, it has been my life. I went from a size 16 to a 6 using the classic dieting plan. But as of this past weekend, it automatically says I’ve consumed 500 calories and burned 300 even on future days. To top it off, it doesn’t register the calories burned anymore and it won’t register the calories consumed either. There’s a bug and it needs to be fixed. Please help!!
  • Calories complete off

    By sprckhx
I do love the design of the app and all of the behavioral nudges that it provides. However, it is useless to me if it cannot get my calories right. It gets the workout calories right but the step calories are completely off - first of all, they double count between steps and workouts (when I go for a run, the app adds calories for the workout and then for all of the steps); second, the amount of calories per step is huuuuge. When I compare the active calories with active calories within Apple Health, the Lifesum ones are much higher, despite Lifesum loading the info from Apple Health. I so want to use the app but if this does not get fixed, there is no way I will keep paying for premium subscription.
  • Used to be ..

Used to be a great app. Since the update it crashes every time I use it! Would love for it to be fixed!
  • Sometime it doesn’t work on the watch

    By Jac_O_Latern
I really like this app in general. It has everything in one place which is great and I love the little motivator Apple you get on the Apple Watch but sometimes it doesn’t always work. It only updates when I have the app open on my phone and THEN refresh the app on the watch and sometimes the last page showing drink, stretch, movement is dark and won’t update.
