  • Horrible support

    By Ga Thoughts
Grindr is great for finding guys; however, support is horrible. Grindr makes it near impossible to submit a ticket, even if you’re a premium member. Takes days if not works for them to reply, and then they ask questions about information that you submitted in the initial ticket. Too many adbots. New reporting system discourages reporting if fake ads.
  • Battery drain

    By iPhoneWanderer
Within minutes of opening this app, my phone has already dropped 10% of its battery. Not to mention the constant crashes when returning from another app. This latest update now refreshes the entire grid of people when ever you go back from viewing a profile. Why was this not checked before this version of the app was updated? Why is it always that this thing seems OK for a couple of months, but another lease comes out and all these problems are introduced that we thought were resolved or year ago? Ugh.
  • Constant Glitches

    By Homosexualville
Currently, every time I open the app, it freezes; it won’t let me scroll, push on any buttons or type. I’ll also get notified that I have a message or Tap, though when I open the app, there is none.
  • Ads/Moderation/Banning

    By FWH4
Grindr used to be a great app for making quick connections or maybe a date. Used to be. I’ve been paying for it for years (when it started at $59/yr). Ad/Spam bots have overrun the app. They appear to chat a few lines, waste your time, and then link you somewhere. The latest involves getting you to text a phone number. If you don’t have a paid subscription the ads are insane. Some cause a technical issue (audio error sounds) and I suspect they cause a hung process - my phone battery life would drain quickly - leaving me to force quit the app and restart the phone to remedy. This is a result of using rogue ad providers. Moderation has no consistency. They approve photos which clearly violate their guidelines. Too many “slip thru the cracks”. I’ve even seen x-rated pictures get approved for public profiles. Recently, I was banned for no reason after years. Contacting Grindr Support was a joke. They made claims without any evidence/proof. I’m a pretty nice guy, I don’t attack folks, and I’m pretty accepting of others, even if I don’t care for their preferences. Regardless, this went on for a month. I created an account, posted my picture, a few days go by, and I’m banned again. Grindr’s Support Response was they can ban for any or no reason at all, and wished me well. So I did an experiment. I used technical means to create an account and profile which couldn’t be traced back to me except by photo. I didn’t message a single person. A few days went by and sure enough I was banned. I’ve come to find out someone was targeting me and reporting every time they saw my picture. Except this time that person sent me a message of hate. If someone reports you “bullied” them or something else, Grindr takes their word for it, no proof, nothing. I even tried to explain I was targeted by someone who doesn’t like me. The bottom line is they don’t care. I did another experiment - I carefully reviewed their photo guidelines and profile text. Then began reporting clear blatant violations. I made sure to skip anything which was border-lined. I never messaged anyone, but sure enough after a few days I was banned. If someone is reporting a profile, the chat transcript should go with it as proof. Grindr doesn’t have to share that with the offender, but it remains as proof of what occurred. Not just someone’s word. I personally think they’ve got a bad apple or two on their review team. Probably a manager or superior no one will question his/her actions. I reached out to Apple Support - they weren’t any help either. Citing it had been over 90 days. My point here is that this company - which has over $70 million in annual revenue - has to get its act together. They need to weed out the internal issues along with some app changes - like using safer ads, silencing taps, and reporting. If not, it won’t be too much longer where they fade away like A4A, ManH..., and others. Someone/company will create a new platform. Consumers are not forgiving of big brands anymore. Just look at the App Store rating and the countless negative reviews.
  • Indiscreet ads

    By mightycthulhu1990
Why are the ads allowed to override your phone’s sound settings and play sounds (loudly), when your phone is on vibrate. Y’all might want to get on fixing that.
  • Pop Up Ads

    By Ademaya
It’s like 1990 internet all over again! Extremely annoying and not needed. I can understand why there would be ads for users, but the full display ads, with sound/video forcing you to watch 30 seconds before you use the app? I miss when the only ads you saw were at the bottom of the app. It makes the user experience extremely frustrating.
  • It freezes ALL THE TIME

    By Imcodyk
The app continues to freeze time and time again.
  • Not bad, could use more free features

    By Marc20202
I’ve used the app for a while now. It seems to be pretty good, but there are a lot of features that I wish weren’t XTRA required. Other than that, pretty decent app.
  • Bad update

    By AlterTheEnding
Latest update just freezes the app constantly on an iPhone 8+
  • Please get rid of the bots.

    By bmeaves1
I’m so tired of getting messages from bots. “Are you there? I’m just getting blank messages.” Can’t you use Captcha or something to weed these out? Also, could you please mute the ads? They are loud and I don’t like them going off when I’m using the app, especially when my phone is on silent. It’s on silent for a reason.
